Top 5 Bollywood Movies of 2010's.

5) QUEEN:

The only light-hearted movie in the list. Queen shows the story of a conservative small town girl and her goody-goody life going through well tested and constrained paths untill something happens, that puts her into trouble. But in the process of getting out of it, her little rebellion makes her realize broader possible ways of life and she is indeed greatful for the trouble. If lately you have developed a resentment for femenism due to ever rising stupid arguments of psuedofeminists, you should watch this movie, as it has the power of making anybody realize the need and power of true feminism in a playfully innocent way.

4) SHIP OF THESEUS:

Back-off right now if you're searing for a teen rom-com/drama. Anand Gandhi tries to share some serious philosophical and spiritual answers he has got. Is it still the same ship? the question messes with you harder than expected. Rightly said by some international magazine, it's one of the most significant film to come out of India in a long time. Although, it's an art-house movie and audience can feel a little bored at times, it's definitely worth giving a shot.

3) TALVAR:

Gripping, intelligent and thrilling, Talvar is so engaging that it almost feel like a David fincher movie at times (if only Meghna Gulzar considered doing few more thrillers). It tries to be neutral while showing the real infamous Noida Arushi murder case from both perspectives and leaves you saddened in the end. Vishal bharadwaj's writing is amazing.

2) SHAHID:

Shahid is such a deeply humanizing film. The story of a human rights lawyer is raw, moral and hard hitting. Some scenes are shot so realistically that they almost appear like video recording of real incidents. Rajkumar and other actors take method acting to serious levels. Hansal Mehta shows off that real cinema is still alive. It's truly one of the best films of 2010s.

1) GANGS OF WASSEYPUR:

Violent, bold, hilarious and cynical, Anurag Kashyap manages to make an art movie more entertaining that main stream entertainment. The music is unique and phenomenal. Sneha's music makes you feel like you're standing in a wasseypur street. Probably with the best dialogues ever written, Kashyap throws you inside the soul of characters. Every scene is a masterpiece, the movie is hands-down a masterclass. However it's not one of those movies in which you cry for the characters, it still at some parts manages to discomfort/confuse the audience by emotionally connecting them with the gangster characters. Doesn't matter if you've ever even killed a mosquito in your entire life, the story of the ambitious revenge makes you feel like a gangsta.
It gave Indian cinema international recognition when became the only Indian film to be selected in THE GUARDIAN's Top 100 movies of 21st century. Morever, it is ranked 59th and ahead of films like The Dark Knight. Originally it was a single 5 hour long movie (as released in Cannes) but the director decided to break it into two to generate proper revenue.
